Simon Goh, a partner in Rajah & Tann LLP’s Insurance & Reinsurance Practice Group, wrote the Singapore Chapter of International Insurance Law and Regulation. Released in December last year, the publication consolidates the insurance laws and regulations of the participating countries including Australia, Hong Kong and Malaysia.
Key highlights of the Singapore Chapter include an update on the development of insurance law, and a discussion of the principles of insurance law and the special types of insurance schemes that are available in Singapore. The Chapter also looks into the requirements for registration to carry on insurance business in Singapore and the post-registration conditions to continue doing such business. The Chapter is updated as at September 2009.
