Kala Anandarajah and Dominique Lombardi from the Competition and Anti-Trust Practice Group acted for April Fine Paper Trading ("April") - a Singapore company which is a leading developer of fibre plantations with one of the world's largest pulp and paper mills in Riau, Indonesia - and a number of its officers, including instructing the Australian solicitors representing April's Australian ancillary. The case was an action for price fixing brought by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.
April and its officers had admitted to taking part in meetings with competitors to arrange paper prices. Nonetheless, after considering many various permutations for the clients, the team managed to negotiate a settlement at a very reasonable amount. Further, the team managed to avoid any fines being imposed on any of April's officers charged. Date of Story:5 February 2010
